Image of the wax sections of the Erasmus Darwin Statue being ceramic shelled in the foundry. The wax sections are taken from the original mould and individually cast into bronze before being welded back into position. In total the Erasmus Darwin Statue is being cast in 22 pieces and is currently being cast by Autus Artwork. It is a mammoth job to create a large scale bronze and this picture casts light on just one of the many stages involved.
The sculpture will be installed on the 12.12.12 in Beacon Park Lichfield.
